Just came back from weekend COS duty..totally exhausted but then again..I feel so lucky to get these few hours off before returning.
Don't Sweat The Small Stuff...and it's all small stuff By Richard Carlson
One of the books I finished yesterday that I feel is worthy of mention. Esp this particular quote by Alfred D' Souza who said, " For a long time it had seemed to me that life was about to begin- real life. But there was always some obstacle in the way, something to be got through first, some unfinished business, time still to be served, a debt to be paid. Then life would begin. At last it dawned on me that these obstacles were my life."
Beautifully put, this statement holds my conscience captive. I'm sure all of us are guilty of whiling our life away, delaying gratification. Such is the prevalence of greed in today's society that one's desires are never satisfied. Instead of whining about what we do not possess, why not celebrate life for all of its glory? What better time to enjoy life than now. The bills are going to be cleared anyway, the results are coming out anyhow, so why wait for that elusive "perfect day"? Today is our perfect day and it is up to us to seize it!
Haha..pardon me blabbering my philosophical nonsense but the book does indeed put forth certain pointers that are not onlu valid but enlightening as well. However a minor flaw is the repetitive nature of the book which irked me a little but nevertheless, any book which added value to my life is one of significance.
Yesterday was my mother's birthday and I sent her a text message. 1st time in my life! :D
Anyway Eduardo's injury was horrendous..so the only posotive from Arsena;'s game is that they dropped 2 points. Coupled with Man U's 5-1 comprehensive thumping of Newcastle..we're only 3 points behind. Rooney grabbed a brace as well as Ronaldo with Saha claiming the fifth. Great week for United!
