Its past 2, but yet my faculties of thought remain sharp...thanks to a new addition to the family...
His name is Zippy...or Zappy...or I just cannot be bothered....
It has long ears, HUGE (and I mean humongous huge) eyes, and an uncanny ability to irk the shit outta me...
To allow it residence in my room was a magnanimous enough decision...but to allow it to wreck absolute havoc wasn't a term explicitly spelt out in the contract!
The bottle from which it drinks from, for some weird reason, produces a rattling sound...and thus destabilising the delicate tranquility enveloping the room...I abhor any distraction to my reading and this ZIPPY OR ZAPPY had the f***ing audacity to fray my nerves on his first night.
Upon finishing my book, I fought an urge to stage a violent protest against my "adversary" but I succumbed. However to my bewilderment, which was shortly succeeded by an emotion that felt like a cocktail of fury and revulsion, I found myself staring at an enclosure (YES...IT IS A MAKESHIFT ENCLOSURE...CAGES WERE TOO EXPENSIVE IT SEEMS)which was devoid of any living entity. It was then that I saw it under my desk where my bags and documents lay claim as their abode.
In case SPCA gets an unnecessary jolt by reading this, I shall state that no harm has come to that furry 'beast'. However I shall not make any pretence as to my displeasure...I shall make sure my brother, upon his waking, be greeted by a countenance etched with evident lines of ire.
Animal Farm (yes...ironic as it may seem) is a book that holds an interesting premise. Orwell, after my reading of his 1984 and Animal Farm, is an extremely political writer. Probably aesthetically his writing holds little captivation as compared to Dickens or say even Austen, but his ideas hold tremendous potential for sustained debate. Concepts such as Doublethink, Newspeak, Thoughtcrime etc can only spawn from a mind as intricately brilliant as his.
Sadly Animal Farm was a short read...
Ok...I guess sleep is beginning to dawn upon my mind...BUT THAT RABBIT IS STILL REFUSING SLEEP!! ARRRGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
